A Little Less Busy. A Little More Grateful

NOVEMBER 2026 EDITION

A Little Less Busy. A Little More Grateful.

A Note from the Desk

Can you believe we’re already in November?

I don’t know about you, but this time of year always seems to arrive a little faster than I’m ready for. The holidays are approaching, the calendar starts filling up, and suddenly there’s a whole new list of things to get done before the year ends. And if you’re a small business owner, you’re probably juggling all of that while still trying to keep your business running smoothly.

But November has a way of reminding me of something important.** In the middle of everything we’re trying to accomplish, there’s still so much to be thankful for.**

Sometimes we’re so focused on what’s next that we forget to appreciate how far we’ve already come. The business you’ve built. The relationships you’ve made. The challenges you’ve worked through. Even the lessons that came from things not going quite as planned. They all matter.

So this month, I want to encourage you to do two things:

Take a moment to appreciate what you’ve accomplished. And give yourself permission to make the rest of the year a little easier.

You don’t have to finish every project, answer every request immediately, or carry every responsibility yourself. Sometimes making room for what matters means letting go of a few things that don’t.

And that’s a good thing.

The Right-Hand Tip

Try a 15-Minute November Reset

Before the holiday rush really begins, set aside 15 minutes to look at everything on your plate.

Grab a notebook, open a document, or pull up your favorite planning app.

Then make three simple lists:

1. Must Get Done - What truly needs your attention before the end of the year? Think deadlines, client commitments, and important business priorities.

2. Can Wait - What have you been putting pressure on yourself to finish that could realistically wait until January?

3. Can Be Handed Off - What tasks could someone else help you with? Think scheduling, organizing, follow-ups, updating documents, or preparing things for the new year.

Here’s the important part:

Not everything on your to-do list deserves the same amount of your time and energy.

A few intentional decisions now can make the next several weeks feel much more manageable.

Take It Off Your Desk

This Month’s Task: End-of-Year Organization

November is a great time to get a little ahead of the year-end scramble.

But that doesn’t mean you have to spend hours doing it yourself!

Here are a few things you could hand off:

● Organizing digital files and folders

● Updating contact lists and client information

● Preparing holiday emails or client appreciation messages

● Scheduling December appointments and reminders

● Creating a list of outstanding projects and follow-ups

● Organizing documents you’ll need for the new year

Imagine heading into December knowing those little details are already being taken care of.

That’s the kind of breathing room I love helping business owners create.

And it’s exactly why I started The Right Hand Desk.

Worth a Look

A Simple Tool: Google Keep

Sometimes the simplest tools are the ones we actually use!

If you find yourself writing reminders on sticky notes, keeping lists in different notebooks, or trying to remember everything in your head, Google Keep might be worth a try.

You can use it to:

● Create quick checklists

● Keep notes and ideas in one place

● Set reminders

● Share lists with someone helping you

● Organize notes with labels

My November suggestion: Create one checklist called Before the End of the Year.

Add tasks as they come to mind instead of trying to remember them all.

It’s a simple way to clear a little mental clutter and keep everything in one place.

A Little Encouragement

You Can Be Grateful and Still Need a Little Help

As we head toward Thanksgiving, I’ve been thinking about how easy it is to feel two things at once.

You can be incredibly thankful for your business and still feel overwhelmed by everything it requires.
You can love what you do and still need a break.
You can be proud of what you’ve accomplished and still wish you had a little more support.

Those things don’t cancel each other out.

I think sometimes we forget that we’re allowed to enjoy what we’ve worked so hard to build. We don’t always have to be chasing the next goal or checking off the next task. There is value in slowing down, taking notice of the good things around us, and being present for the people and moments that matter most.

So here’s my encouragement for you this month:

Be proud of how far you’ve come. Be thankful for what’s in front of you. And don’t feel guilty about asking for help along the way.

You deserve to enjoy this season, too.

From My Desk to Yours

As Thanksgiving approaches, I want to say how grateful I am for the encouragement and support I’ve received as I’ve started this new chapter with The Right Hand Desk.

Building something new has been exciting, challenging, and full of learning. And I’m so thankful for the people who have cheered me on along the way.

My hope is that this season brings you a little more peace, a little less pressure, and plenty of moments to enjoy the things that matter most.

And if there’s something on your desk that you’d love to hand off before the end of the year, I’d be happy to talk about how I can help.

Wishing you and your family a wonderful Thanksgiving! 🤍

Warmly,
